Description
At Newport 1960 is a live album by Muddy Waters, recorded at the Newport Jazz Festival on 3 July 1960. It captures the Chicago blues artist and his band performing classics including “Hoochie Coochie Man” and “I've Got My Mojo Working”.
Muddy Waters helped shape the post-war Chicago electric blues sound, bringing Mississippi Delta blues traditions to a powerful amplified band setting. Backed by musicians including James Cotton, Otis Spann, Pat Hare, Andrew Stephenson and Francis Clay, he also performs “I've Got My Brand on You”, “Baby, Please Don't Go”, “Soon Forgotten” and “Tiger in Your Tank”.
