Description

This special edition CD reissues the 1976 album by Irish musicians Andy Irvine and Paul Brady. It features ten tracks remastered from the original analogue tapes.

Recorded at Rockfield Studios in Wales after Planxty disbanded, the album brought Irvine and Brady together with producer and bouzouki player Dónal Lunny and fiddler Kevin Burke. It is regarded as a seminal release in Irish music.

The reissue includes a 12,000-word essay by music journalist Gareth Murphy, interviews with Irvine, Brady, Lunny and Burke, and testimonials from other artists. The album is associated with Paul Brady’s arrangement of “Arthur McBride And The Sergeant”, which Bob Dylan recorded.
