Description
La Clave’s self-titled 1973 album is a Latin jazz record for listeners drawn to music shaped by different cultural traditions. Led by Benny Velarde, the nine-member group brought together musical influences from Mexico, Panama, Cuba and Puerto Rico.
The group formed in San Francisco in the early 1970s, blending music from their homes with the city’s heavier sounds to create a soulful, joyful recording.
This Verve By Request release is pressed on 180-gram vinyl at Third Man in Detroit.
