Description

XTC’s seventh album, The Big Express, returns on remastered 200g vinyl in a gatefold sleeve. It’s a bright, brash album for listeners interested in the band’s industrial-inspired sound and its story of growing up in Swindon.

Once largely overlooked, the album is now regarded as a neglected classic. Its busy mix of guitars, bass and drums with drum programming, synthesisers, phasing and backwards tapes reflects Swindon’s industrial and railway heritage.

Produced by David Lord and XTC, and mixed by Phil Thornalley, David Lord and XTC, the album includes “Wake Up”, “This World Over”, “The Everyday Story Of Smalltown” and “Train Running Low On Soul Coal”.
