Description

Sweet and Dandy is the third album by Toots and the Maytals, the Jamaican group known for their ska, rocksteady and reggae music. Originally released in 1968, it features songs including “Monkey Man”, “Pressure Drop” and “54-46 That’s My Number”.

Fronted by Toots Hibbert, the group helped popularise reggae internationally. Their 1968 song “Do the Reggay” was the first record to use the word “Reggae”, giving the genre its name.

The album also includes “Sweet & Dandy”, “We Shall Overcome” and “I Need Your Love”.
