Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark - Junk Culture [Vinyl]

Junk Culture is OMD’s fifth album, released in 1984, presented here as a standard vinyl edition. Remastered from the original half-inch reels and cut at half speed by Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios, it features the singles “Locomotion”, “Talking Loud and Clear” and “Tesla Girls”.

Founded by Andy McCluskey and Paul Humphreys, Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark emerged from Liverpool in the late 1970s and became one of the era’s successful synth-pop acts. Junk Culture marked a more melodic direction after Dazzle Ships and reached the UK top 10.

Produced by OMD and Brian Tench, with additional contributions from Tony Visconti, the album combines catchy pop songs with an imaginative musical approach. Its three singles remain live favourites.
