Amon Amarth - The Allfather Awakens

On The Allfather Awakens, Amon Amarth delivers a definitive 10-song masterwork, further cementing the legacy of the band's spectacularly memorable riffs and unflinching aural power. This album marks the 13th release from the iconic Swedish melodic death metallers since their 1998 debut, Once Sent from the Golden Hall. The songwriting approach for The Allfather Awakens was new, with the band beginning to craft songs while on tour rather than waiting for downtime. The album came to life across two recording sessions, months apart, at producer Jacob Hansen's studio in Denmark, with the first session in Spring 2025 and final recordings completed in March 2026.

The album opens with the epic tale of "Gjallarhorn," followed by the heroic battlefield narrative "Eight Legs of Thunder." Notably, "Upphaf," a translated stanza from the prophetic poem Völuspá, features the band's first-ever acoustic offering, showcasing a new dimension to their sound.
