Description

Walkin' After Midnight is a CD collection of previously unreleased Eva Cassidy recordings, captured at an improvised Western Swing Night in Annapolis. It offers a more stripped-back sound, with Cassidy's vocals and acoustic guitar accompanied by violin, lead guitar and bass.

The recordings come from a small gig at the King of France Tavern on 2 November 1995, two months before the Live At Blues Alley recordings. With two of her usual band members unavailable, Cassidy performed with musician Bruno Nasta and a pared-back group, bringing a different feel to some of her popular repertoire.

All 13 tracks are previously unreleased Eva Cassidy recordings, although 11 appeared on her existing albums. The collection closes with her take on a Don Henley and Glenn Frey Western-themed song, featuring Cassidy's vocal from Pearl's Restaurant in 1994 and later-arranged parts by Lenny Williams.
