Keith Jarrett - Budapest Concert [2CD]

Budapest Concert is a solo piano jazz album by Keith Jarrett, recorded at the Béla Bartók National Concert Hall during his 2016 European tour. This two-disc release captures an improvised performance shaped by Jarrett’s Hungarian family roots and his sense of the concert as a homecoming.

The music unfolds in suite-like movements, moving between free improvisation, songbook influences and stride. It documents the spontaneous approach of Jarrett’s later solo concerts, with shifts from dissonant passages to swinging, rhythmic playing.

The encores include Jarrett’s interpretations of “It’s A Lonesome Old Town” and “Answer Me”.
