Description

XTC’s 1979 album Drums & Wires returns in a CD and Blu-ray edition featuring Steven Wilson’s 2025 mixes, including Dolby Atmos. It’s a post-punk classic for listeners who want to explore the album in immersive and high-resolution audio.

With Dave Gregory joining on guitar, XTC shaped the album into a set of inventive post-punk pop songs. “Making Plans for Nigel” became a UK and international hit, while expansive tracks such as “Roads Girdle the Globe” and “Complicated Game” showcase the record’s wider musical range.

The Blu-ray brings together the new Dolby Atmos mix, the original album mix in high-resolution stereo and material from Steven Wilson’s 2014 mixes, including stereo instrumentals, DJM mixes and demo sessions. It also includes a newly recorded-at-the-correct-speed version of “Officer Blue” and an unadjusted-pitch bonus version of “That Is The Way”.
