Description

Live! is a live album by pianist Lonnie Liston Smith, recorded at Smuckers Cabaret Club in Brooklyn in May 1977. This 180g black vinyl pressing captures an expansive performance featuring music from Visions Of A New World alongside newer songs.

Smith built his career as a sideman with Art Blakey, Pharoah Sanders and Miles Davis before recording with the Cosmic Echoes. The set moves from a fast-paced performance of ‘Expansions’ into extended meditations on ‘Visions Of A New World (Phase One)’ and ‘Visions Of A New World (Phase Two)’, with ‘Sorceress’ and ‘Watercolours’ also featured.
