Description
California Dreaming is a Verve album by jazz guitarist Wes Montgomery, presented on vinyl. Released in 1967, it was the last album he released for Verve during his lifetime.
Montgomery’s octave-driven guitar is paired with lush string arrangements by Don Sebesky, with Creed Taylor producing. The album moves towards pop material while retaining Montgomery’s distinctive guitar style.
Standout tracks include the title tune, Bobby Hebb’s “Sunny” and Sol Lake’s “More, More, Amor”, “Green Peppers” and “Winds of Barcelona”.
