Description
Dopamine Chamber is the fifth studio album by Fontaines D.C., pressed on coloured vinyl. Produced by James Ford, it follows the band’s 2024 album Romance and marks a shift towards colder, more synthetic sounds.
Across the album, synthesiser tones, marching drums, samples and triggers reshape the band’s sound; several songs have no guitars. Swooning strings inspired by 1960s Italian pop are also drawn into its synthetic arrangements.
Moving between pleasure and dread, the album explores escape and the effects of artificial intelligence, environmental collapse and political violence. It is the band’s most radical turn yet, continuing a run of albums that includes Dogrel, A Hero’s Death, Skinty Fia and Romance.
