Description

Pick-Up Full of Pink Carnations is The Vaccines’ sixth studio album, presented on CD. It explores the gap between expectations and reality, and the process of reconciling with loss.

Inspired by a misheard lyric from Don McLean’s “American Pie”, the album reflects on disillusionment after lead singer Justin Young moved to Los Angeles. Its themes of gratitude and remembrance are balanced by a belief in continuing to dream.

Produced by Andrew Wells and mixed by Dave Fridmann, the album adds anthemic songs to The Vaccines’ catalogue. The band have had five UK Top 5 albums, including a Number 1 with 2012’s Come of Age.
