Description
Explore the AOR/Melodic Rock masterpiece 'Power' by Atlantic, the brainchild of guitarist and songwriter Simon Harrison. Heavily influenced by legends like Whitesnake, Journey, and Bad English, this album delivers a sound that was groundbreaking for its time.
Album Significance:
'Power' was originally released in 1994 and later re-released in 2008 on Escape Music. The album garnered significant attention, drawing comparisons to esteemed bands such as Heartland, Dare, and Shy. It features a notable guest appearance by Tony Mills.
Band Lineup:
The album showcases the talents of Simon Harrison on guitar and keyboards, alongside the distinctive lead vocals and guitar/keyboard work of Phil Bates (known for his work with Trickster and Quill).
A True British Classic:
Despite its immense potential, 'Power' may not have received the widespread recognition it deserved upon its initial release. Atlantic later returned with the acclaimed 2024 album 'Another World', also on Escape Music, solidifying their place as purveyors of classic British rock.
