Moses Boyd - Songs For Sinners [2LP Vinyl]

Songs for Sinners is Moses Boyd’s second solo album, presented on two discs. It’s for listeners drawn to music that brings together jazz, gospel, electronic sounds and Caribbean rhythms.

A MOBO Award winner and Mercury Prize-shortlisted drummer, composer and producer, Boyd has spent years pushing jazz beyond its traditional boundaries. This album continues that exploration, blending gospel-influenced vocals and choir harmonies with bruised jazz chords, soundsystem bass, electronic pulses and organ.

Exploring the personal and sometimes unsettled nature of belief, the album moves between comfort, uncertainty and communal expression without offering easy answers. It also marks a return six years after Boyd’s previous solo album; “Rye Lane Shuffle” is among the songs referenced in connection with his earlier work.
