Description
Souvenirs is the seventh studio album by Dutch band The Gathering, presented on double gatefold vinyl with four bonus tracks. It’s for listeners drawn to atmospheric rock, experimental music and the band’s trip-rock sound.
Originally released in 2003, the album blends gloomy trip-hop, electronic and jazz influences with Anneke van Giersbergen’s vocals. Kristoffer Rygg of Ulver guests on vocals and lyrics on “A Life All Mine”.
The album marked a shift towards the experimental style The Gathering became known for, while retaining the distinctive vocals of Anneke van Giersbergen.
