Description
Sunny, I Was Wrong is a one-disc vinyl album of new songs by Joe Pernice, for listeners drawn to bittersweet songwriting and pop arrangements. It brings together aching melodies and stories of things lost or left unrealised.
Pernice, known for his work with Scud Mountain Boys and Pernice Brothers, shaped the album as a complete listen rather than a collection of unrelated songs. Its arrangements nod to pop’s past while keeping the focus on the characters and emotions in the lyrics.
Standout songs include “Deep Into The Dawn” featuring Aimee Mann, “It Won't Be Me” featuring Rodney Crowell and the title track, “Sunny, I Was Wrong”. The album also features Norman Blake on “I'd Rather Look Away” and Jimmy Webb on “It Got Away Rrom Me”.
