Mama Cass - The 1969 Broadcast Special [CD]

This CD captures a 1969 television special hosted by Mama Cass, featuring performances with Joni Mitchell, Mary Travers and John Sebastian. It’s a snapshot of the era’s singer-songwriters, with Cass performing alongside her guests and giving them their own sets.

As she established herself as a solo artist beyond The Mamas and the Papas, Cass opens with ‘Dream a Little Dream of Me’. She joins Mitchell and Travers for Bob Dylan’s ‘I Shall Be Released’ and performs ‘Darlin’ Companion’ with John Sebastian.

Standout solo performances include Mitchell’s ‘Both Sides Now’ and Sebastian’s ‘She’s a Lady’. The broadcast brings together influential voices from the late-1960s counterculture.
