Description
The Heroines is an album by Tony Joe White, the musician known as the Swamp Fox. This limited numbered edition is pressed on orange 180 g audiophile vinyl and includes an insert.
White’s Florida-rooted sound blends blues with vintage roots music, with songs exploring backwoods life, love, politics and spirituality. Five of the album’s 12 tracks are duets with female vocalists.
Standout collaborations include “Can’t Go Back Home” with Shelby Lynne, “Closing in the Fire” with Lucinda Williams, “Playa del Carmen Night” with his daughter Michelle White and “Wild Wolf Calling Me” with Emmylou Harris. “Chaos Boogie” turns to the subject of firearms and life in America.
