Description

Tomorrow's Fashions is a CD compilation of electronic music made for music libraries between 1972 and 1987. Compiled by Bob Stanley, it suits listeners interested in synthesiser-led music, television themes and advertising soundtracks.

The collection brings together tracks from libraries including De Wolfe, Bruton, Parry and Chappell, ranging from jingles and TV themes to space-inspired sounds and beatless ambience. Made by both established jazz players and younger musicians exploring synthesiser technology, this music anticipated new age and ambient styles.

Its influence can be heard in early Human League and the later sounds of Warp Records, while electronic library tracks have been sampled by artists including MF Doom and Kendrick Lamar.
